Lancaster and District Schools Singing Festival 2016
14-17 March 2016 at the Ashton Hall of Lancaster Town Hall.
The Festival started 67 years ago and was originally for secondary schools, it switched to include primary schools over 25 years ago to raise participation in singing in primary schools.
In 2015, over 1200 local children came together to perform at four concerts at the Ashton Hall. The events were put together by the Festival Committee, Lancashire Music Hub and More Music in 2015. Feedback from children, teachers and audience was very positive:
"The music festival was vibrant – it was lovely to see children, staff and parents joining in the singing and dancing so enthusiastically.”
"The children learnt some wonderfully energetic and vibrant musical pieces, whilst having fun! It’s been a wonderful experience for the children, and we can’t wait for next year!”
Come along on Tuesday 24 November to More Music at 4.30pm to 6pm and hear how the festival will be run including the new programmes and how to access all the resources online.
If you are unable to attend but your school wishes to take part, please contact Nicky Donnelly (events co-ordinator) at firstname.lastname@example.org
