Sufjan Stevens 'Songs for Christmas' gig

Festive music with a difference

Fri 5 December, 7pm

Sufjan Stevens' 'Songs for Christmas' gig

Takes place at the Friends Meeting House, Meeting House Lane, Lancaster
Presented in association with Lancaster Arts City as part of First Friday, a monthly mini-festival of the arts

A festive gig with a difference featuring music from ‘Songs for Christmas’, a series of EP by US cult singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens that he gave away for free to family and friends.

The songs have been arranged by composers Hugh Nankivell and Dean Brodrick and they will be working with local musicians who came together for the first time earlier that day to work toward this performance. After an intensive four hours of rehearsal, the brand new band of talented musicians will perform eight songs together in front of an audience for the first (and last!) time.

This will be a unique festive gig featuring familiar festive songs and Sufjan’s original seasonal songs, performed by an all-new band. Get into the Christmas spirit early and come down for a very special performance, featuring versions of songs like the one below!

Tickets available to book online below and they will be available on the door- £5 (£3 concessions)
