Learn to  sing South African songs

Sat 18 October, 9.30am-2pm

With One Voice

Join Anni Tracy for a day of learning and singing songs from South Africa. You’ll also have the opportunity to help create the brand new 'Township Cafe Choir’ to perform with The Soil, acapella and Kais Soul singers from Soweto, at the Afrovibes Festival at The Dukes Theatre in Lancaster on 3 and 4 November.

Anni, leader of Dot Crochet and the Raging Harmonies, Lune Valley Voices and the Bowland Community Choir will lead the day. Don’t worry, there’s no experience necessary as it’s all taught by ear.

Afrovibes is a biennial festival of contemporary theatre dance and music from South Africa which will spend a week at The Dukes, giving audiences the chance to immerse themselves in the best of contemporary performance from Southern Africa.

Performance Dates at the Dukes

3 November: Rehearse with the SOIL at 6pm then perform 7.30 at the Afrovibes launch

4 November: 6.45 – 7.15 – sing in the Dukes foyer - pre- show (and onstage for the SOIL finale)
