Moving Around

Well here we go, just a couple of days until lift-off, and the nearer it gets the easier it gets to imagine. A Sunday afternoon sat watching and listening to Pete and the musicians put together Act 2 has left me excited for Friday night. I don't know why I was surprised by how good it sounded, when it was all put together, but I was.

Right now my brain is filled with the mechanics of moving the audience around the space, in a way that makes them feel like they're on an adventure, and without having to resort to cattle prods, again. Having worked on previous shows that involved having the audience move around the space, I know how tricky this can be, and how many unknowables are going to come sneaking up behind us to trip us up I once did a show where the audience were taken on a journey (literally), all apart from one man who had drunk way too much, and who lay himself down and went to sleep, while his girlfriend went through the show. Still it's all those unknowables that makes it all fun. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself.
