- Ideal for: Learners of all ages with Special Education Needs
- Typical structure: No typical structure, completely bespoke
For learners with Special Educational Needs we recognise that music can eliminate some of the frequent barriers to participation and allow individual's personality and creativity to shine. Our most popular workshops are based around percussion and singing, but we'll build every session around the needs of your learners.
We can work wherever you or your learners are based, as a one-off or on a regular basis. Single sessions are great to introduce variation to routines and develop new skills. Our longer-term programmes - whether for a few weeks or for the whole year - allow significant, sometimes life-changing, progress to be made.
There are no set constraints on how our SEN music sessions have to run; we know that your students have individual needs that can’t be generalised. We also know that you know them best and that you already have a trust relationship so we’re happy to take your lead on setting parameters for learning.
In case you are completely stuck for ideas, have a have a look at the Gobsmacked
project that we ran with Beaumont College. This was a singing project (but yours doesn’t have to be!) which involved setting up a choir for SEN learners alongside mainstream school children and adult singing groups which led to several public performances across the region.
We also run regular Bang That Drum
sessions for SEN learners at the Hothouse; why not come along and see our music leaders in action and then discuss how we might work together to develop something to suit your learners.
Alternatively, we can deliver training for you and your colleagues to develop the skills and confidence to deliver your own SEN music sessions. Get in touch today to discuss your ideas and find our pricing information.
