Our Building

A beacon for the power of music in the community

More Music is based in The Hothouse in the heart of the West End of Morecambe. Following the extensive refurbishment of the building in 2011 that accommodated our offices, studios and a performance space for up to 220 people, we also had a refurbishment in the summer of 2016 when our roof was fixed and our facilities upgraded, making an excellent community space for the hundreds of people who visit us every week for a variety of music sessions.

This 2016 renovation was carried out with the generous support of:

 Garfield Weston

 The Rayne Foundation

 Arts Council England

 National Foundation for Youth Music

 Lancashire Environmental Fund

 Foyle Foundation

The original building, called Devonshire Hall, has a fascinating history. The upstairs was originally a music hall and then in the 1930s it became a snooker hall, known locally as 'The Dev'. The downstairs was a paint factory and home to a decorating firm before becoming shops and then finally a home for More Music in 1996.
