Songwriting in Hong Kong

In Hong Kong we are exploring the potential for various partnerships, with organisations such as as songwriting project and Community Music Training Programme with the Centre for Cultural Development. We are also in discussions with West Kowloon Arts District Developments, with local and international schools around workshop delivery, and building our relationship with Lingnan University and the HK Institute of Education.

Exchange programmes with mainland China

In mainland China we are seeking to develop a project in Fuquing in the province of Fuijian that will lead to potential exchange of musicians and young people. We are also developing community music initiatives in response to existing links in Shanghai and Beijing with a variety of partners including Fringe Shanghai, British Council, and the Hua Dan Theatre Company.

Building links in Brazil

Following our first Research & Development project in Maraba in Amazonia in 2012, we have started to explore the potential connection between young people there and in the UK. We are also gathering information about a number of other initiatives that are developing between cultural organisations in the UK and Brazil and hope to follow up with a second project in the near future.

Training programme for Singapore

We are seeking to develop a training programme to link into the Music Learning Live conference being hosted in Singapore in 2013.

International work in the UK

Back at home in the UK we will continue to develop Long Walk Chinese Ensemble and deliver performances across the north west for Chinese New Year. We will remain to committed to our schools programmes and the promotion of cultural connections and possible exchanges.
